We left Italy in the rain and we are now in 20 degrees of sunshine.
Instead of a double train and taxi to pireus we have decided to take
the bus. I know don't start sending me emails, but it is direct and
quicker than going via Athens on the train.
The overnight train from Paris to Milan was effortless although we
shared a couchette with a snoring American woman. If you are
interested the rails are the continuous welded type so no clackety
clack to perforate your ear drums. We had time for a quick macchiato
in Milan and then the 7:00am train to Ancona.
The Superfast VI ferry from Ancona was stunning, super clean and
superfast and super cheap.
On the bus now for 4 hours and the toilet doesn't work. Wish me luck.
