20,000 Polar images go online

The Scott Polar Research Institute has made available online 150 years worth of photographs illustrating polar exploration from the nineteenth century onwards. The site is called Freeze Frame and is the result of a two-year piece of work that displays online, photographs from both Arctic and Antarctic expeditions.

What a fantastic resource for learning about how it was really done!
