Summary of the year so far

Tour #1 – East Coast USA, Jan 07

I spent 2 and half weeks drifting up the coast from Orlando via Savannah, DC, Philidelphia and New York – a fabulous time with local Americans using the Amtrak train system. 1 country – 1100 miles covered.

Tour #2 – Alps, March & April 07

Skiing, Snowboarding, ski touring and drinking lots of coffee. Visited Switzerland, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria and Italy. 7 countries – 2900 miles covered.

Tour #3 – Europe by train, April 07

2 weeks with my father from Southampton to Istanbul – mainly by train on the old Orient Express. Visited: France, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey. 5 countries – 2400 miles covered.

Tour #4 – Cycling to Iceland, May & June 07 (starting now)

I am about to depart by bike from Derby to Reykjavik in Iceland, via the Shetlands and the Faroe islands. A 45 day journey with a 6 day tour across the inland desert of central Iceland. 3 countries – 2500 miles.

Tour #5 – Greenland Icecap crossing (starts August 07)

Crossing from East coast to West coast of the Greenland Icecap on skis towing a sled (no dogs allowed!) 1 country – 500 miles.

Tour #6 - Northern Canada to Newyork (unconfirmed)

Down the Labrador coast onto Newfoundland, then cycling to New York via Nova Scotia
